The compact superzoom camera is a good all round camera, which is suitable for a wide variety of users.

The camera is not the simplest camera in the world to use to be honest, as there are many functions that can be used although having only looked through the manual briefly I was quite able to use most of the functions on my camera with ease very quickly. however for those who are not as interested in getting the most out of the camera and are just using it for its most basic picture taking function, there is inbuilt a special mode called iA (intelligent Auto) which will choose 7 camera settings for you for the appropriate picture, depending on the surroundings, and many of these pictures turn out well and as good as if it was taken with the settings chosen manually.

When in Advanced Intelligent Auto mode, the following technologies all operate automatically; the consumer does not need to change any settings: (iA, 2008)

• Intelligent Exposure

  - This feature enables the camera to adjust the brightness of the photo

• Digital Red-eye Correction

  - The camera will digitally detect and correct the classic 'red eye' problem you can get when using a flash.

• MEGA O.I.S.

  - Special gyrosensors in the camera are used to detect hand shaking and the camera prevents a blurred image.

• Intelligent ISO

  - To prevent a blur free image the shutter speed is adjusted depending on the speed of the subject.

• Intelligent Scene Selector

  - Depending on the surrounding environment the camera will choose an appropriate scene mode.

• Face Detection

  - 15 faces can be set to focus in on, and this will make sure that these (and other) faces in the picture will be clear and in focus, even if the person is moving.

• Continuous AF

  - AF (auto focus) will maintain continuous focus on the subject.

During the use of this function, the user is able to take a good quality picture just by clicking the 'take a picture' button, which is the same as for the old style film cameras, so it is not very difficult to take a picture, and for most people this would be enough. Now, for the look of the camera, it is not much different to all other cameras with buttons in the standard places so as to not to confuse new users switching to digital cameras. making this camera more available to the mass market and easier to sell as most people have grown up with film cameras, and switching to a digital camera is not very difficult if everything stays the same, this picture shows zoom toggle, take a picture button and the on/off button, as well as the mode selection wheel.



The impact of this on the quality and price of the product is vital to the success of the product. For this camera, it has been especially designed to be good quality with a good zoom and many megapixels to improve the picture and the distance away a subject can be to still take a good picture. This camera has managed what many other compact cameras have not, with such a large zoom as well as being compact. This has affected the price of the camera, at a retail value coming to £200 mark (price, 2009) even with so many features added on, the price is very reasonable, Canon's camera which is similar, the SX100 IS, 8 megapixels., and 10x optical zoom has an rrp of £299 (canon) and so this shows that this camera was able to be produced with extra and better features at a lower price, the iA was one of the extra things included, that has been developed over many models and so can be produced at a lower value than that of Canons model where they created a completely new range of cameras.

This camera comes inbuilt with many different on screen languages, so wherever the camera is sold, there should be a setting that the seller can put it on to choose the correct language for that country, which is very important, as it means the same camera model can be sold practically all over the world without needing to change anything. Other things that are included with the camera are also available in different languages are the software CD's and instruction manual. Cables will have the same connector to the camera, but will have different parts to connect with the power outlet in the different countries, as well as optional hardware that can be used with the camera such as memory cards, which are sold all over the world in their respective languages.

Letting the camera be compatible with universally available parts like this make it a lot easier to sell in other countries and more accessible to more people, and when selling them, the parts can be added in the different countries as required. This will not affect the price, as producing the different cables will cost the same, but some of them will be different and be produced in different countries where they will be used. Installing different languages on a digital camera has become increasingly popular.
