Response to case study scenario 1
It is the responsibility of the company to recall the products as long as I have discovered a safety defect, leaving the customer with unsafe products is not ideal and does not satisfy the company commitments to one of it's well known customer. It is very important that customers enjoy the value for their money and also the company keeping a good reputation by meeting the standards of a reliable organization. This mistake would pop up doubts in esteem of the company safety testing on manufactured products by the client in question or to the public if made public.
I will not ignore the problem, I will approach my manager to convince him, providing him with a report on companies that have been faced with similar situations in the past and make him see reasons beyond bias, why the company needs to recall the failed products immediately.
Report on various companies products recall
1. Cooper Lightings recalls Emergency and Exit lights :
2. Casio Canada Ltd. Announces Recall of Electronic Keyboards, Model CTK-710 Due to Fire

Anothter action is to make a copy of my report available to the appropriate quarters to ensure that my best interest is protected even if my manager treats my report with negligence and to ensure adequate check on report review for product test.
The company needs to conform to the “General product safety of regulations 2005” by ensuring safety of manufactured products. The legal consequence may be that the customer may sue the company for producing and delivering hazardous drives which involves our employer to pay compensation which again may prove to be costly compared to producing three more drives. The consequences of this problem on the employer would be losing the customer and paying compensation and the consequences on me would be that it would cost me my job.
Based on my experience I have purchased a mobile hard drive from a retailer in the past without any warranty on the product and unfortunately for me the mobile hard drive crashed within two months leaving me without a good value for my money and I decided never to purchase any item whatsoever from the retail shop. The company will not only be sued for this act but will also lose his reputation and reliable customers if any of the products should fail.
The company will make a voluntary recall for the products but not over the media or a notification on the corporate website, but with contacting the customer directly to notify him of the product identification number of the failed products.
