Response to case study scenario 1

I will not ignore the fails that I found. The reasons that safety testing group exist in the manufacture company are finding out the hidden fails and risks in order to corrected before the products reach the field and customers. Products should be 100% guarantee safety issue before coming out from the manufacturer. Therefore once the fail has been detected, it must be report to related higher body of the company.

I will report this matter to the related bodies which are sales department and production department within a apologetic mall to my own manager from the safety testing group. The reason I report to sales department is because the products were already delivered to the customer, so I hope the related sales engineer can report the matter and deal with the customer about the way to resolve the problems. I report to production department because the matter may hiding in other batches from the production. Due to that I hope this action can reduce the number of fails found from the future. I have ignore the order from the manger by report the matter, so I will made an apologetic mall to him and hope that he can understand the risks from my point of view. Also the mall can turn into my reference in the future if there are any happening in the company and the field. There are two sides of effects from not reporting and accident from the product in the market. They are legal issue and financial issue. In legal issue, according to the law, every customer have the right to know all the detail that we purchased. If they found that the supplier is not honest anything from the goods and if there is a accident made by USB flash memory and cause any type of damage to the customer. My company can end up with litigation. My company has to pay out the large amount of cost of litigation and payback. The litigation can bring up a bad image of my company in the market. By this image change, customers and order of goods are loss in the future. Due to that, it comes up a financial issue. By paying high cost of payback, my company may end up with very serious financial crisis, could be end up with closing down company and high debt to meet. Therefore I will report to sales, production and my manager to reduce the risks of my company.

To support my decision, I would like to use a case study from a company produced a milk powder with Melamine. The milk powders that sale in the market and lead to bladder stone in more than 100 babies in danger and few dead. At the end of the case, the company had charged in litigation. The result of litigation, the owner of the company sent to jail and the company need to compensate with large amount of money cost. According to this case, I believe that I must report this fails to reduce the high risks of my company
