If I was the software engineer for Yahoo I would start the project because in the long term I would gain revenue. From performing the decision tree and net present value they both show that if they completed the project successfully and acquire Yahoo they would gain £25714 and if Microsoft did not acquire Yahoo and the project did not go ahead they would made a loss of £4166. If Microsoft did not acquire Yahoo and the project was successful they it would have gain £16153. If the project was started but failed the cost was £4166. If Microsoft acquire Yahoo ant the project was canalled it would have cost £25000.
