Management and the Technology Professional – B302
Case study answer 2
As the supervising engineer for stage 6 performing final tests. I have found that one test has been missed this could cause a considerable issue for the whole the meeting of the specified deadline for this process.
When using the critical path analysis tool it has shown that option 6 is part of the Critical Path for this project. So this means that this step must be completed in order to moved to the next part of the project. I have no option other than to repeat the step. Unfortunately this will mean the deadline for the project may not be reached on time.
By having to do this, the project could well be set back by 4 days this is a considerable delay when compared that the whole project is supposed to take 20 days if all task are completed on time.
Evan though this is part of the critical path we could skip the single test and just move on, although this could have dramatic effect on Intel, as they are renowned for the high quality of their products and should the missing of these tests mean the quality of the product is reduced this could cause confidence in their reputation to fall, which in turn could in turn see a down turn in sales.
