Introduction

Transport is requirement and resource is shortage in the world. Car must use petroleum to propel. In my report will focus on a new technology’s product that uses solar energy to propel and never produce pollutant. That is a solar car.

Background
What is a Solar Car?

A solar car made with the solar cells. That is using solar energy to propel. A solar car does not produce pollutant when it is running. (Image 1) That is a sport solar car that it is running faster. A solar cell is a device that generates electricity directly from light energy. It is necessary to connect a number of cells together from a solar panel. It makes by P or N semiconductor. When the light or sunlight shines to solar cell directly, it can generate electricity immediately. (Image 2)

Technology Issue

Will it destroy the environment?

Actuality, the solar cars will not destroy the environment, because when it generates electricity, it has not produce any pollutant. It is a green technology. If the people use the solar car that can decrease using petrol and diesel, but it costs very expansive and cannot use it for a long time that is a reason the product is not popular in the world.

Do you agree with the solar car replace the petrol and diesel car in the future?

If the solar car replaces the petrol and diesel car in the future, that is good, because the energy is shortage in the world, special is petroleum. We should protect our environment. The petrol and diesel car’s exhaust emissions can destroy the environment. In some country they promote no driving day every mouth. In news you always can read that about exhaust emission. The exhaust emission can make you get a cancer. The solar car had lots of disadvantage now, but if you never build it up that it never has development. At this moment, the solar car cannot completely replace the petrol and diesel car, but we can do plan of inquiry for a project.

Technical alternatives and consequences

If solar car replace the normal car now…

Advantage
• Running faster than more cars.
Solar car is using for racing, so it should running faster than normal car. In my opinion, it will make a big business market in the world, because it can run faster and using unlimited solar energy to petrol and solar energy is free.

• Can generate huge electricity and store the electricity energy.
It can generate huge electricity quickly, so you do not worry about how many minutes you wait for when you propel it. In evening time you do not worry about cannot drive, because it can store the electricity energy enough for 6hours to use.

• No production of pollutant when the device that converts light energy into electrical energy.
Solar car never product any pollutant when the device that converts light energy into electrical energy. That will not damage the environment. We should think about next generation.

• Generate electricity without human operation.
It generates electricity without human operation, so when you drive, you do not need generate electricity or change battery before you drive.

• Can protect environment, decease use petrol or diesel.
Resource is shortage in the world. Car must use petroleum to propel. If we can decease use petrol or diesel, so we can save the earth. Solar car is your choose, it do not need petrol or diesel to propel. Solar car can protect environment.

• No exhaust emission.
High-level air pollution can make children get asthma. 632 children aged 7-11 found that respiratory disorders worsened as air pollution increased. Air pollution can get cancer easily.

Disadvantage
• The cost very expensive.
Solar car cost very expensive. That means is not every one can pay for it, but we can do more advertisement for it.

• Cannot generate electricity at evening time and encounter a bad weather.
Solar car may not for a long time user, because solar car cannot run in evening time. Evening user may not like to drive solar car, but the device that inside of the solar car can save electricity for evening time, so that is not a big problem.

• Cannot pack up 3 or more passengers.
Solar car cannot pick up 3 or more passengers, because solar car is made by solar cells. A solar cell is big. If solar car want to run faster, it must got lots of solar cell to generate electricity. If solar car want to pack up 5 or more passengers, it will look like a minibus.

Consequences

In my opinion, if solar car replace normal car, it should change the world, because solar car got lots of advantage. The point is human drive solar car can protect the environment and give us a health life. In every time, when a new technology comes out, people need more time to get with it. The people do not like the solar car can pack up 2 passengers only. If the people want to use it, I think the company will open up and develop it. In the future we can see solar bus, solar ship and solar plane.

In my questionnaire, 71 people want to drive solar car, the reason are it can protect the environment and get a health life. Only 2 people the reason is the car is beautiful. 24 people do not want drive solar car, because the car is expensive and cannot pack up more than 2 passengers. 5 people got no comment about this questionnaire. So people want to drive solar car in the future.

The potential political and financial effects of the project

At this moment, solar car may not be popular in the world. The reason is the cost very expensive, although everyone wants to protect the environment and have a health life. The second reason is the government. If government can do some project for solar car, I think it will popular in the world. In my opinion, I think the government should follow this project:

1. Advertisement the importance of protect the environment
If the government can do advertisement the importance of the environment, that will be very useful for selling the solar car. The government can do some action about that. For example, in city side can use a big screen that build up with the building to show a movie about the protection of environment and use bus and underground to do advertisement. In the project do not use radio and TV to do advertisement, because that costs expensive. In countryside can use newspaper and magazine etc…

2. Educate the residents the importance of save resources
Resources are shortage in the world, maybe the residents do not know about that and they may not think about next generation. The government should educate the residents about save resources and what can they do. If they know something about the importance of save resources, they will buy the solar car to replace their normal car.

3. Reduce the tax of solar car
The government should reduce the tax of solar car. The reason is the residents may not to buy it, because solar car coats very expensive. If the government can reduce the tax of solar car, I think the residents will buy it replace their car.

4. Increases the tax of normal car
The government should increase the tax of normal car. The reason is the residents will think which car is better and cheaper. If the government want to popularize the solar car, that is necessary. If the normal car’s cost increases that means the normal car is more expensive than solar car. The residents will buy the cheaper one.

A national or global perspective

At this moment, we cannot use the solar car to replace the normal car, but we can do the project for a national of global perspective. In the project, the solar car will mix with the normal car. Each car got a good advantage. Solar car made by solar cells. Solar cells can generate electricity directly and quickly from light energy. But solar car cannot pack up more than 2 passengers and cannot run at night. Normal car will produce pollutant when it is running and used petrol or diesel to propel. But normal car can pack up 5 or more passengers and it can run at anytime. If the project can create a new product, that should be great.

In the project, the normal car will get solar cells. The driver can choose the 2 options before you run the car. Option 1 is propel from solar cells and option 2 is propel from petrol. The car will install the device that can detect the sun energy is enough or not. If the device detect the sun energy is enough to generate electricity, the driver cannot choose the option 2 to propel. That makes sure the driver always use sun energy to propel.

Conclusion

In my opinion, I think the car is very nice, because the driver can choose the options. If they can, they will always choose the option 1, because sun energy is unlimited and free. If they buy the car that means they really want to have a good life and environment. The product will popular in the world and that will make a big national or global perspective in the future.
