The Nissan Tino Hybrid Car

Sustainable development is more an ideal than realty as it is defined as “Development that ensures that the use of resources and the environment today does not restrict their use by future generations.” Which is something that would be good to have but in reality it is almost impossible to achieve due to the sear demand of all the resources and are dependence on fossil fuels. Which has been lessened with the introduction of solar, wind and tidal power generating systems but these are only the beginning other systems to reduce our use of fossil fuels are being developed at the moment these are schemes like the electric and hybrid cars

Nissan Tino

The Nissan Tino Hybrid is one of a number of new cars that have been developed by numerous companies that are looking to the future of the car industry. As most people know petrol is not a renewable resource and will soon be becoming unsuitable for running the millions of cars on the roads that are on the roads. Hybrid cars are a combination of petrol and electric run cars, reducing the cars reliance on petrol and it is a first step to reducing the amount of petrol used in cars. Although there are fully electric cars already these are currently not at a standard that are good enough for general use for most people.
The Nissan Tino Hybrid is a development of the original Nissan Tino which keeps the good components of the existing car and improves the car further using a gasoline engine and an electric traction motor, by doing this the car has drastically improved it’s fuel economy as well as cutting it C02 out put by over 50%. While the car is moving at low speeds, for instance while in traffic the car only uses its electric motor. Where as when the car has bursts of speed or is moving at high speeds, say on a motor way the gas engine takes over. Also the car uses the deceleration from these high speeds to charge the electric batteries further increasing the batteries charge.

Students in particular should be aware of these developments especially with cars due to the very high possibility of most if not all student driving at some point. Also it is especially prudent with engineering students as they themselves may someday be working on the development of these systems.

My plan of inquiry will be to review the Nissan Tino in respect of the other hybrid cars that are on the market and to make a informed decision on what car manufacture is progressing the hybrid technology in the right direction. This will be done on several areas including fuel consumption, cost, C02 production as well as other aspects of the vehicles.
