I was born on August 15th, 1957 in an island city north of PERSIAN GULF, called ABADAN, in the south west of IRAN, in the county of Khuzestan.
Abadan

I am one of the 15 childeren of my father and mother (may god bless their souls) and one of the 11 brothers. I am the 7th child of the family.

I did my primary and secondary schooling in ABADAN, and during my high school I worked in Abadan Refinary as a machinist. After obtaining my High school Diploma (through evening classes), I came to England in Feb 9th, 1978 and atteneded a language school in EXETER.

In septeember 1978, I joined North Devon College in Barnstaple, where I obtained an Ordinary National Diploma OND (and on top of that my Pure A-level Maths) in june 1980. In september 1980, I joined University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology (UWIST) and obtained A BSc(Hons) in Electronics, in 1983. I, then joined University College Cardiff (UCC) where, I obtained A MSc in Electronic systems in 1985. (These Universities, a few years later merged and now are known as Cardiff University).

I went back home in 1985 and worked in a research centre in Tehran, and at that time Iran-Iraq war was at its peak, and life was so difficult, so I decided to come back to the U.K.

In the Uk, first I started teaching in various further / higher education colleges in Wales on the part time basis, but eventually I was offered a full time post in one of the further education colleges, which I took. After working for a couple of years, I took a job in Doncaster Metropolitan College of Higher Education, which did not last long, since I had an offer from Department of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the, then called, Portsmouth Polytechnic in Mar 1990. I have enjoyed my time in this brilliant department ever since.
